April 1: Movie Night – Rise of the Guardians

We are very excited to announce that for our next Family event, we will be having a Movie Night in the Parish Hall on Saturday, April 1st after our 4:30pm Mass.

We will be watching the movie Rise of the Guardians. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs, and imaginations of children all over the world.

Click here to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0C4EAAAD2FABFDC43-removie

We will provide the movie, snacks, and fun. You guys bring your favorite blanket as everyone will be sitting picnic style!

This event is for ALL RE families, but we highly encourage our 3rd-6th grade families to attend as part of their Religious Education program.

We hope to see everyone there!

Stations of the Cross

Stations of the Cross will be prayed every Friday during Lent at 7pm in the Church.

What Are the Stations of the Cross?

The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Jesus Christ’s last day on Earth as a man. The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day, beginning with His condemnation. The stations are commonly used as a mini pilgrimage as the individual moves from station to station. At each station, the individual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ’s last day. Prayers are recited, then the individual moves to the next station until all 14 are complete.

At Nativity, parishioners stay in the pews as the priest moves from station to station.

Altar Servers

Calling all Altar Servers!
Boys and girls 4th grade through high school

The Church of the Nativity is looking for more children to join our current group of altar servers who assist the priest on the altar during Mass.

Each altar server:

  • typically serves one Mass a month (occasionally two). Great way to do service/volunteer hours!
  • is trained during one 45-minute session with Fr. Chris and Dr. Ken Laughinghouse, coordinator for altar servers
  • can sign up in pairs with their friends or siblings if they wish

Please email altarservers@nativitychurchnj.org to sign your son or daughter up or if you have any questions.

Franciscan Earth Care Ministry

The Franciscan Earth Care Ministry encourages us to always be good stewards of God’s creations by caring for and protecting the environment, our home, and all living things to ensure that our children will inherit a safe and sustainable Earth.

Our ministry works to foster environmental awareness and sensitivity, promote sustainable practices, and inspire thoughtful action and community service efforts. It was inspired by the many works of St Francis, the patron saint of ecology and of animals, whose devotion to God was expressed through his love for all of God’s creation.

The Franciscan Earth Care Ministry meets the second Wednesday of each month at 8:30am in the Parish Library. Please join us. All are welcome!
