July 8-9: Mission Appeal Weekend

This weekend, Rev. Peter James Alindogan, Trenton Diocesan Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in the United States, will speak at all Masses on behalf of our mission partners. During the past years, our diocese has shared our resources to needy and developing countries where the life giving presence of Christ in our world is proclaimed and professed.

Last year, Nativity was generous to the Diocese of Obuasi in Ghana, West Africa. Nativity contributed to the water projects, the construction of the Church and the training and formation of seminarians. These projects were made possible with your gracious financial assistance.

Our second collection next weekend will be taken to support the needs of our Catholic Churches around the world.

Thank you for being part of our Mission Family and in spreading the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in these developing nations of the world. Please be as generous as possible in this second collection.

Pentecost Sunday (Year A)

This week we celebrate Pentecost, the feast of the Church’s birth. With a roaring of the heavens and in tongues of fire, the Holy Spirit comes and enlightens the Apostles. Peter begins to preach with boldness and authority what Christ’s life and Death truly means. From that moment, the great mission of the Church begins.

Marian Prayer Group

Devotion to our Blessed Mother and her rosary are the continuous heartbeat of the Marian Prayer Group. We give one hour a week to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart, and include the following consecration in our prayers:

Parish Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

Most Blessed Virgin, Immaculate Queen and our Mother Mary, refuge and consolation of all miserable creatures; prostrate before your throne, we the parishioners of the Church of the Nativity choose you for Our Lady, Mother and Advocate with God. We consecrate this parish, with all who belong to it, forever to your service, and beseech you, O Mother of God, to receive us into the number of your servants, by taking us all under your protection, helping us in life, and still more at the hour of death. O Mother of Mercy, we appoint you as Lady and Ruler of our whole parish, of our interests, and of all our affairs. Disdain not to take charge of them; dispose of all as it pleases you. Bless us, then, and all the Church of the Nativity parishioners and do not permit that any of us should offend your Son. Defend us in temptations, deliver us from dangers, provide for us in our necessities, counsel us in our doubts, comfort us in our afflictions, assist us in our infirmities, and especially in the sorrows of death. Never all the devil to glory in having in his chains any of us who are now consecrated to you; but grant that we may go to heaven to thank you, and together with you praise and love Jesus our Redeemer for all eternity. Amen.

Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, and tender Mother of men, to fulfill the desires of the Sacred Heart, and the request of the Vicar of your Son on earth, we consecrate the Church of the Nativity to you and to your Immaculate Heart, and recommend to you all the parishes of our nation and the world.

Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us and all parishes as you wish to accomplish your designs upon the world.

O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth, and of our parish, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, Our King.

Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism, kindle in our hearts and homes the love of purity, the practice of the Christian life, and an ardent zeal for souls, and for the holiness of family life.

We come with confidence to you, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love; inflame us with the same Divine Fire which has inflamed your own Immaculate Heart.

Make our hearts and homes your shrine, and through our parish make the Heart of Jesus rule and triumph in every family and parish in the world. Amen.

We invite you to join us Tuesdays at 7:30pm in the Chapel. Many people have come with prayers of petition or thanksgiving and find a true peace.
