Catholic dioceses and parishes offer Pre-Cana classes to help couples develop a better understanding of the sacrament of marriage; to evaluate and deepen their readiness to live married life, and to gain insights into themselves as individuals and as a couple.

The name “Pre-Cana” is derived from the wedding feast at Cana in Galilee, where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine.
