This Third Sunday of Advent is also called Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete is the Latin word for rejoice. The color we can use during this weekend at church is rose (pink). The vestments, as well as the third candle on the Advent wreath that we light, is rose colored. It’s a weekend where we rejoice in hope for the coming of Christmas during this Advent season of preparation.
When we rejoice, we also are reminded to be thankful. I would like to give a special thank you to the Nativity Women’s Group. The Women’s Group does SO much for us here at Nativity – and everything is greatly appreciated. The Women’s Group donated the three new signs we have on Campus (at the corner of Ridge and Hance roads, at the Ridge Road entrance to the parking lot and in the front of the church). This was an EXTREMELY generous gesture on behalf of the Women’s Group and I wanted to thank them for their generosity. The Women’s Group is another good example of the hard work and generosity of the people of Nativity
